Open innovation

Keynote - Open innovation: Connecting individuals, culture and ecosystems .

Meet the speakers at Podravka's conference Knowledge in Focus 2016

I am really looking forward to contributing to the 4th International Corporate Conference Knowledge in focus with the main topic being “Culture driven innovation and learning”.

Terms like “culture”, “innovation” and “learning” are on the one hand central to corporate activities and success but on the other hand they are also broad in scope. In my keynote lecture, I will try to shed light on a particular type of innovation, namely open innovation, which entails knowledge flows across organizational boundaries. More specifically, I will give an overview of what we know from research about different aspects of open innovation, and how this may help to relate to the practice of innovation. When considering the research on open innovation, it will become clear that there are many aspects that are relevant at the organizational level but that we also need to consider other levels of analysis to get a comprehensive picture of all aspects of an open innovation process. As such, I will emphasize different themes, ranging from individuals to culture to ecosystems, with the aim to provide a basis for further discussion and development of open innovation in any organization.
